Sewing and Quilting Tours in NYC

Garment District tours include
famous design schools, fashion landmarks (Bryant Park, Fashion Walk of Fame), Project Runway locations, and brief stops at a few of the popular fabric and trim stores utilized by industry professionals. Along the way, participants will learn about the history of the garment industry in NYC, explore the evolution of great department stores like Lord & Taylor and Macy's Herald Square, and hear about recent efforts to save the Garment Center in New York. All tours are led by professional New York City costume and fashion designers who are also fully licensed NYC guides.

mix of history and sightseeing, with a few minutes for browsing in several fabric and trim shops along the way. For groups who’d prefer a more in-depth fabric shopping experience, private tours can also be designed to focus specifically on shopping, rather than history and sightseeing, and can be tailored to specific types of crafting, sewing, or quilting projects. For private groups, fabric showroom and factory visits can also be arranged upon request. Pending availability, a sample sale or fashion-related event or exhibit may also be included.
